Surprising absolutely nobody, director Rian Johnson‘s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery announced its arrival in a grand fashion on Friday, instantly claiming the number one spot on the global Netflix charts. The murder mystery is being touted as the best of the trilogy, which moved to Netflix after the theatrical success of the first installment in 2019. The new movie features a typically star-studded cast with Josh O’Connor being hailed as the stand-out. Knives Out 3 is expected to rule the viewership charts for the remainder of the year, pushing the streamer’s recent awards contender, Jay Kelly, down the rankings. Knives Out 3 also replaced the holiday-themed offering My Secret Santa at the top spot, and fended off competition from the recently released hit sequel Troll 2.
